He has been involved in making a string of big budget, box office smashes, most notably Titanic . He is also credited as Producer and Screenwriter and with any Cameron DVD you tend to get lots of added extras. Starting out as a model maker for a studio Cameron got his first break as art director for Battle Beyond the Stars (1980) and quickly moved up the ranks from there. Told in flashback, the story opens in modern day with a treasure hunter determined to discover the ‘Blue Diamond’ believed to have gone down with the Titanic . His dives unearth a sketch of a beautiful woman wearing the diamond that he shows on TV resulting in the elderly Rose Dawson coming forward claiming to be the woman in the picture. She tells the story of a 17 year old girl travelling to America to marry Cal Hockley ( Billy Zane ), when she meets a poor artist aboard the Titanic and falls in love. Although you know the ending of the film before it’s even began the unfolding love story between Jack ( Leonardo Di Caprio ) and Rose( Kate Winslet ), the reaction of those on board as they realise their fate, and the superb effects make this movie essential viewing. True Lies Harry Tasker ( Arnold Schwarzenegger ) is a secret agent masquerading to everyone including his wife as a computer salesman. Whilst on the trail of some stolen nuclear weapons, he discovers that his wife is in desperate need of some excitement and has been having an affair. Harry decides to try and fulfil his wife’s desires for some fun whilst simultaneously battling with nuclear terrorists - only Arnie could achieve both! The Terminator In 2029 LA has been reduced to rubble and taken over by the machines. A member of the resistance movement Kyle ( Michael Biehn ) travels back in time to 1984 to rescue Sarah Connor ( Linda Hamilton ) so she can still give birth to the child who will eventually lead the rebels in the 21st Century rebellion against the machines. Unfortunately for both of them the machines send back a Terminator( Arnold Schwarzenegger ) who is programmed to assassinate Sarah. Terminator 2: Judgment Day Written and directed by Cameron . The machines have still taken over the earth and 10 years since Sarah Connor ( Linda Hamilton ) had to fight a cyborg from the future (and she’s currently locked away in a mental hospital for her trouble), her son John (who will lead the resistance in the future) has become the latest target. As in the last movie the resistance in the future manage to send back a protector for John ( Arnold Schwarzenegger ) but this time around the protector comes in the shape of the reprogrammed ‘Terminator’ from the first movie. The Abyss Another action movie written and directed by Cameron . When an American nuclear submarine crashes without an obvious cause the crew of a nearby oilrig and a Navy Seal are sent in to discover the cause. As the crew encounter severe weather conditions and several other difficulties they realise that they are not alone in the depths. Aliens Sigourney Weaver returns as Ellen Ripley, who after defeating the almost undefeatable aliens in part 1, has been drifting in space for half a century. When she finally returns she is told that the planet on which the alien was defeated has since been colonised and contact with the colony has recently been lost. Sent along as an advisor, Ripley, with the young girl who is the only surviving member of the colony has to face the aliens again in a fantastic all female finale between the alien queen and Ripley.
